I've got a major problem with this quote. I'm not sure who came up with it, but I know who I got it from. Sure it's inspiring but is it "REAL"?
Lets make some sense out of this. If what you're successful at (and hate) pays you 150k a year and what you love (and suck at) pays 30k. Are you telling me you'd take the 30k and struggle financially so you can brag about how much you love your job?
Money isn't everything, but it sure helps in this life. And sure, I believe that if you love what you do, you wont work a day in your life.
However that doesn't change the fact that everyone wants financial security in their future, right? And if to achieve that it means that I will have to live the next 50 years hating my career but at the end of the day driving my one hundred thousand dollar Mercedes to my 200 acre home and sit on my four thousand dollar couch to watch Monday Night Football on my ten thousand dollar home entertainment center with my feet kicked up on my 6 hundred dollar footrest, I think I'll sleep soundly at night knowing that my financial future is secure.
Life is short, and you can't enjoy it broke. Besides, it's easier to focus on loving your significant other when you're not stressing about how you will pay the rent on the 1st of every month.
Be real people, love doesn't pay bills.
